Mission Statement

As a communion of baptized ministers, we are called to the mission of Jesus Christ to foster the reign of God by proclaiming the Good News, celebrating the saving acts of God in liturgy, and serving the needs of our brothers and sisters, especially the poorest.

A Note From Pastor

Rev. Miguel Angel Sanchez

The Peace of Christ be with you!

Welcome to St. Pius X Catholic Church and School. I am delighted to have you visit our website to learn more about our parish family.

We are St. Pius/Somos San Pio, A COMMUNITY WITH A MISSION /UNA COMUNIDAD CON MISIÓN. The mission of Jesus Christ moves our hearts to build the Kingdom of God. As a community of faith, we walk together sharing our lives with one another and those we encounter.

If there is anything I can do to help you in your journey with God, please do not hesitate to contact me or anyone on the parish staff. I pray that you may find warmth, encouragement,

and spiritual growth in our parish, and I look forward to getting to know you personally in the weeks and months ahead. May God bless you and your family.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

FAQ

Find Out What To Expect
  • What is Mass?

It's the sacrifice of our Savior for us. Saints and angels are with you at Mass, surrounding the Eucharist.

It's a break from the world's stress, an opportunity to refocus on Christ for the rest of the week, and a heavenly partaking in communion.

  • What should I wear?

Your intentional dress at Mass is a statement to yourself and others that this is not just any other activity.

Children know by their special clothes that Mass is a unique time and will follow their parents' example for how to act in Mass.

Why not show them how extraordinary Mass is from head to toe?

    Don't wear

    • Flip-flops and beachwear (save those for the pool unless you are having a full immersion baptism).

    • T-shirts and jeans (perfect for hanging out with friends, not for worship).

    • Revealing or overly tight shirts, skirts, and pants (allow others to focus on God's beauty, not yours).

    • Sweatpants, yoga pants, pajamas, and shorts (great for home but not for this setting).

  • Am I expected to put money in the offering?

The offertory, or collection, at Mass, is an integral part of the Sunday liturgy, not only because it serves as the primary means for the parish to receive financial support from parishioners, but also because it expresses our gratitude to God for the blessings He has given us, allowing us to return a portion of them to Him for use by His Church.

  • What are Mass Intentions?

The graces gained from having a Mass said for a special intention are beyond earthly comprehension. The Mass is the greatest prayer and, therefore, the most powerful way to help others and ourselves attain eternity with Him.
